RESPONSE OF NIKOS MAZIOTIS TO GUILFOYLE’S STATEMENTS
On the occasion of the statements by U.S. Ambassador, Kimberly Guilfoyle regarding my release from prison, I would like to say the following: when the enemy makes such statements, it means that I am on the right path! I would start to worry if she made complimentary statements about me!
Indeed, I have no place in a society and a system that the term «civilization», means submission, oppression, slavery, racism, inequality, wars, the genocides of peoples, and the destruction of nature and the earth. People like Kimberly Guilfoyle consider these things to be «civilization» and «democracy».
On the other hand, it is hypocritical for the representative of the real arch-terrorists, the slaughterers of the peoples and the imperialists those who bomb and murder civilians in Iran, previously in Iraq and Afghanistan, and those who arm Israel so that it can murder tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, to call me a «terrorist».
They are the same people who previously bombed Vietnam and were behind every fascist-dictatorial regime in Latin America, Asia, and Africa; the ones who trained torturers and supported death squads. They are the same people who tortured prisoners in Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib after the attack of the 9/11/2001 and the declaration of the war against «terrorism».
The representative of the Empire has the audacity to speak, when her state, through the IMF, imposed the abhorrent regime of serfdom on the Greek people through the memoranda that killed thousands of citizens, at the same time that she herself made disgraceful statements about the Greek people, such as saying that we are lazy.
The US ambassador should know that many in this country do not forget the dirty role that her state played in the history of this country such as the civil war of 1947-49 and the dictatorship of 1967-74.
And he should consider that far too many in this country, as well as internationally cheered and applauded the Revolutionary War’s anti-tank RPG attack on the US embassy in 2007.With this attack, we had responded to the then U.S. president, George W. Bush Jr. –who, in the context of the «war against ‘terrorism», had said that «whoever is not with us is against us»– that WE ARE NOT WITH YOU, WE ARE AGAINST YOU! Just like very many people in this place!
